Our Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Portfolio Service can offer an opportunity to grow your investments and shelter a part of your estate from some Inheritance Tax (IHT). Unlike other IHT planning tools, our AIM Portfolio Service enables you continued access to income and capital. AIM stocks are more volatile and can be less liquid than standard securities.
Certain shares within the AIM market qualify for Business Relief (BR) and therefore offer 50% IHT relief, provided that they have been held for two years or more and continue to be BR qualifying at the point of death. Our AIM Portfolio Service seeks to help clients benefit from this relief.
We use the AIM Portfolio Service as one option in a wider inheritance tax planning strategy. It isn’t suitable for all clients.
